Alexander Reicher
Alexander Reicher (trombone) was named co-winner of the Khuner Competition in 2002, performing Launy Grøndahl’s Concerto for Trombone and Orchestra. He went on to study trombone at The Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara in 2005 and 2006. In 2008, he was named a fellow of The Academy—a two-year fellowship for post-graduate musicians from leading music schools, providing performance opportunities, intensive training, and education work in New York City public schools. The Academy, a joint program of Carnegie Hall, The Juilliard School, and The Weill Music Institute in partnership with the N.Y.C. Department of Education, was designed to equip musicians with the skills and practical experience needed to create careers combining musical excellence with commitment to education, community engagement, and advocacy. Alexander participated in the inaugural year of the program. (Resume updated by Concerto Committee in 2016 from reliable online sources.)
